Huron County Food Bank receives tons of donations at charity hockey event

DrovesoffansandsupportersfloodedintotheSouthHuronRecCentreinExeterThursdaynightforapairofcharityhockeygamestobenefittheHuronCountyFoodBankDistributionCentre. Fourlocalbusinessesputteamstogethertoplaythegames,andhundredsofpoundsoffoodweredonatedasaresultofthepackedevent.Mary-EllenZielman,ExecutiveDirectoroftheHuronCountyFoodBankDistributionCentre,saysseeingthesupportofthecommunitywasamazing. “Thewholecommunityhascomeout,thestandsarefullofpeopleandtoseethechallengesamongtheteamsisgreat.It’sagreatcommunityeventandthecommunityhascertainlystoodbehindthedistributioncentreformanyyears,andit’sjustgreattobeapartofthis,”Zielmansaidenthusiastically.
