Farm Ministry beefing up its operation to help hungry veterans

DAYTON — The Farm Ministry is expanding its efforts to deliver beef to veterans in need after Gov. Glenn Youngkin and his wife contributed part of their salary to fund the program for three months.
The nonprofit announced the expansion of Operation Beef to cover veterans living in the northern part of Rockingham County. The organization will partner with veterans’ groups to distribute the beef further than before and connect with veterans who may be reluctant to go to a pantry for help.
Keith Turner, head of the Farm Ministry, spoke to a packed house at the Woodmen Life Insurance building in Dayton on Wednesday to announce the program’s expansion.
